Best Stainless Steel Stiffener Plate Manufacturer & Suppliers
Stiffeners are secondary plates or sections which are attached to beam webs or flanges to stiffen them against out-of-plane deformations. Stiffeners will be present on almost all key bridge beams. The majority, on the other hand, simply have transverse web stiffeners—vertical stiffeners bonded to the web. Longitudinal web stiffeners are occasionally used in deep beams. Although they are uncommon elsewhere, flange stiffeners may be employed on large-span box girder bridges. A comprehensive selection of Stiffener plates of the highest caliber is produced by Aurum Alloys. Keeping in mind the various needs of the customers, the given product is made using the highest quality raw materials and contemporary processes.
Typically, bearing positions are equipped with transverse web stiffeners, often referred to as bearing stiffeners. Having bearing stiffeners available at jacking points is a recommended practice for future maintenance (for when girders have to be raised to free bearings for replacement). Intermediate transverse web stiffeners are several types of transverse stiffeners.
Typically, box girders lack stiffeners at the locations of the supports in favor of diaphragms. Typically, the interior of the box has solid plates like these.
Local buckling can be caused by shear, transverse compression load, such as a web subjected to a bearing reaction, or longitudinal compression load, such as from bending. In all circumstances, a relatively tiny stiffener added to a thin plate can significantly increase the resistance to local buckling.
Fixing the bracing to transverse stiffeners is the most straightforward method of joining steel beams. Therefore, bracing locations and stiffener positions are virtually always congruent.
The transverse beam webs can be directly attached to the main beam stiffeners in a ladder deck, ensuring that stiffener spacing is the same as the transverse beam spacing. As long as the main beam stiffeners are attached to the bracing members in a multi-girder bridge with cross bracing, the stiffener spacing and bracing spacing will be the same.
